When I Step Into PCAF, I Begin To Heal

“What are we walking through? We don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring. There was no history, there was no one to go to and get a little guidance. It was a surreal time.”  These words are the reflections of Phillip, a long time PCAF client, when he was first diagnosed with HIV 20 years ago. They ring true today as well.

PCAF was founded in response to one epidemic, and your support is helping our clients through another. Today, we all find ourselves in a place of uncertainty and many unknowns. What we do know from the early days of the AIDS epidemic—when there were many unknowns, and great loss—is that we are a community. We come together to support each other now, as we did then, and as we have been doing for over 30 years.

The stability provided by our programs helps clients like Phillip to remain hopeful and to feel empowered to manage the many challenges they face, perhaps now more than ever.

“In this world right now, we are so much a number, a rating, and a statistic. To have that personal contact, even now that it’s over the internet, it’s very powerful.”

Your donation provides resources, stability, and a community for Phillip and many others. Your investment connects them to safe and affordable housing, nutritious food, medical case management, and emotional support to reduce isolation.

We are so thankful to have you as a part of our community as we weather these times. Please help us continue to provide these valuable resources to people like Phillip by making a gift today.

As this year comes to a close, despite the challenges we have faced as a community, we have much to be thankful for. We are especially grateful for your partnership.

With gratitude,

Erick Seelbach / Executive Director
