National Black HIV&AIDS Awareness Day Health Fair

RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 16

FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS, BLOOD PRESSURE, HIV TESTING, DENTAL CHECK UP AND A HOST OF OTHER RESOURCES

This is a free event designed to encourage black communities to develop an awareness and urgency to protect their health.

Dr. Rena Patel
Dr. Patel is an infectious diseases/HIV physician and Acting Assistant Professor in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Department of Medicine and the International Clinical Research Center in Department of Global Health at the University of Washington. In addition to seeing patients, she conducts mixed methods research, using both qualitative and quantitative tools, in HIV and reproductive health in Kenya. Dr. Patel completed her medical school and residency at Stanford University, MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health, and MPhil in Sociology from University of Cambridge. She has previously also worked in India, Tanzania, Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

Teresia Otieno
Teresia is a seasoned advocate for gender equality and sexual reproductive health and rights, especially for women living with HIV. She is passionate about promoting HIV prevention strategies that work for women and girls in all of their diversity. Teresia works across continents to mentor others and harness the mobilizing power of women.
